AVENUE GRAVEL PIT
WATER
STORAGE RESERVOIR AND INLET/OUTLET STRUCTURES
Greeley,
Colorado
Lyman Henn provided engineering services
for design and construction of an 8,460-ft-long slurry wall enclosing
a 70-acre gravel pit to create a water storage reservoir. This reservoir
will serve to provide water re-timing ability for the City. A slurry
wall which encloses two adjacent reclaimed gravel pits was designed
by Lyman Henn. Work performed included a supplemental geotechnical
investigation, site specific surveying, a technical feasibility
study, an initial design and cost estimate, an evaluation of design/build
contracting, and preparation of final design and specifications.
Lyman Henn provided construction monitoring and quality control
during slurry wall construction. Lyman Henn designed and performed
the Initial Liner Test on the lined reservoir as required by the
State Engineer's Office. Lyman Henn performed part-time construction
monitoring during inlet/outlet construction to monitoring geotechnical
components to the construction.
