FRESHWATER BYPASS TUNNELS

Work on the Freshwater Bypass
Tunnels project consisted of approximately 3300 ft of tunnels installed
using Horizontal Directional Drilling, two cement-bentonite slurry
cut-off walls, and various concrete ancillary structures. The bypass
project is required by the Regional Water Quality Control Board
to divert surface water around the City of Santa Cruz 's existing
landfill.
Lyman Henn provided pre-construction services including constructability
review of 90% design documents, contractor prequalifications, and
contract management. During construction, Lyman Henn served as construction
managers. In this role, Lyman Henn provided contractor submittal review,
scheduling analysis, inspection, contract administration, cost estimating,
and environmental compliance monitoring.
